On April 6, 2023, the first edition of the “IP: Con Belgrade / Beogradska konferencija o pravu intelektualne svojine” was held at the Yugoslav Cinematheque. The conference was co-organized by the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and “Živko Mijatović & Partners”, the leading provider of IP services in this part of Europe. The conference was organized with the aim of providing a forum for discussion of representatives of different legal professions – IP law professors, attorneys, judges, civil servants, business persons… The welcome speeches were given by Prof. Dr. Zoran Mirković, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ms. Marija Markićević Pijević on behalf of „Živko Mijatović & Partners“ and Prof. Dr. Dušan V. Popović, president of the Organising Board.

The conference was organized in four panels. The first panel was dedicated to the Serbian Trademark Act, which is in force for the last three years. The panellists were: Prof. Dr. Slobodan M. Marković, University of Belgrade Faculty of Law; Mr. Nikola Кliska, attorney; Ms. Ana Babić, Commercial Court in Belgrade; and Mr. Dejan Bogdanović, attorney. The second panel was dedicated to digital assets and IP law. The panellists were: Prof. Dr. Dušan V. Popović, University of Belgrade Faculty of Law; Dr. Mina Jovanović Ninković, attorney; and Mr. Bogdan Vujović, founder of the company „Eko digital“. The third panel was dedicated to IP infringement proceedings. The speakers in this panel were: Prof. Dr. Sanja Savčić, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law; Prof. Dr. Ivana Кunda,University of Rijeka Faculty of Law; Ms. Jelisaveta Pavlović Nikolić, Higher Court in Belgrade; and Mr. Dragan Milić, attorney. The fourth panel was dedicated to video games and IP law. The panellists were: Prof. Dr. Manojlo Maravić, Academy of Arts in Novi Sad; Dr. Novak Vujičić, University of Belgrade Faculty of Law; Mr. Vladimir Marenović, attorney; and Ms. Кristina Janković Obućina, SGA – Serbian Games Association.
