In the course of their preparations for the participation at this years’ XXIV Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the students of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law won the first place at the II AIA-CAM Pre-Moot, a pre-moot competition organized by Milan Chamber of Arbitration (Camera arbitrale di Milano) and Italian Arbitration Association (Associazione Italiana Per L’Arbitrato) from 24th to 25th of February 2017.

Among 19 teams from 11 countries our students won the first place, whereas the second place went to the team of University of Muenster from Germany, and third place to University of Turin from Italy.

During their stay in Milan, besides taking part at the pre-moot, our students attended a seminar organized by Milan Chamber of Arbitration on ”Business Risk in International Commercial Arbitration and the Role of Public Administration: Currency Risk and Security for Costs in International Arbitration”, which dealt with some of the disputed legal issues covered by this year’s Moot problem.

Finally, the preparation process shall end at the same place where it began – in Belgrade, at the Belgrade Open Pre-Moot, the world’s largest pre-moot tournament that will gather 82 teams from 40 different countries on 1st and 2nd of April 2017.
