International Procurement Week 2016
Belgrade was the host of the first International Procurement Week that took place from 27 to 30 September 2016 at the joint initiative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Alumni Student Association “International Master in Public Procurement Management” of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade, prof. Dr. Sima Avramovic, the World Bank Country Manager for Serbia, Tony Verheijen, EBRD Director for Serbia, Daniel Berg, Vice President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Miroslav Miletic and professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Gustavo Piga.
The Symposium brought together economists, lawyers, engineers, managerial experts in the field of public procurement through dialogue and discourse with the goal of reducing the terminology barrier among disciplines dealing with public procurement while reaching a joint wider understanding of practical issues. The working language was English.
The past editions of the Symposium were held in the leading European capitals and hosted renowned experts, researchers and scientists in the field of public procurement:
1st Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement (6-7 June 2011, Rome, Italy),
2nd Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement (22-23 September 2014, Budapest, Hungary).
All the papers accepted in the previous Symposia have been published in the Routledge’s books “The Applied Law and Economics of Public Procurement” and “Public Procurement Policy. The Economics of Legal Relationships” edited by the organizers.
