Great success of our students at the “Arbitration Olympics” in Vienna
After excellent performances at pre-moots in Milan, Munich and Belgrade, the students of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law came back from the XXI annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which took place from 11 to 17 April 2014 in Vienna, as one of the top eight universities in the world, thus securing the fifth place in the final ranking of the teams’ oral performances. This year’s strong competition – more than 2000 students coming from 290 law schools from 66 countries – makes the success of the team that represented our Faculty even greater. Additionally, the Memorandum for Claimant submitted by the students of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law received honorable mention and our student Igor Radovanović was also given honorable mention as one of the best speakers in the moot. In sum, our students continued the line of success that lasts for ten years in a row: qualification in the elimination rounds (2005-2013), third (2007) and fifth (2011) place in the final ranking in oral rounds, the award for the best Memorandum for Claimant (2013) and many honorable mentions for best memoranda and best individual oralists (2008-2013).
