The Forvm Romanvm Club celebrated 50 years of existence
The Forvm Romanvm Club marked the 50th anniversary of its existence with a small online celebration on Friday, December 25, 2020 – with a firm agreement that the proper live celebration will take place later, as soon as circumstances allow. In such special circumstances, the celebration was started by our honorary president, Prof. Dr Sima Avramović, who remembered a number of Forum members who are no longer with us, and dedicated a special homage to the “Forum son-in-law” Ivan Bekjarev, who had magnified the previous, 45th anniversary of the Forum with his performance. The celebration was further led by the president of the club, Prof. Dr Vojislav Stanimirović, who together with Ass. Prof. Dr Nina Kršljanin (one of the vice presidents of the club) informed the Forum members about the events and work of the club during the past lustrum – a five-year period. The key part were the addresses of the forum members from the oldest, founding generation of the Forum – primarily our Caesar, Prof. Dr Sima Avramović, and then Prof. Dr Dejan Popović, Pavle Pašajlić and Smilja Krneta. The Forum treasurer, now a master’s student and demonstrator at our Faculty, David Vučinić, addressed the audience from the point of view of young Forum members. The admission of new members was also carried out, so our club became richer for eleven young members. The celebration ended with the screening of a recording of the 45th anniversary of the Forum (remastered courtesy of a Forum friend, director Nikola Avramov), which gave us both a memory of the past years, and a reminder of what a real celebration of this important jubilee should – and soon will – look like!
