Prof. Bujuklić Gives the Jubilar 40th Lecture on Hilandar at the Forvm Romanvm Club
On the 25th of October, 2019, Prof. Dr Žika Bujuklić, a legend in the field of Roman law in these parts, gave his regular – though, this year, quite special – lecture on Hilandar. This lecture marks 40 years of Prof. Bujuklić’s interest in the most significant Serbian monastery, visiting Mount Athos almost every year and giving lectures related to this amazing place to students, the Forvm alumni, and other interested parties. This jubilar lecture, just as those before it, came in the form of a travel journal in which Prof. Bujuklić recounts his travels to Mount Athos (starting with the first one, in 1980), accompanied by numerous photographs, and combined with the story of Hilandar’s history and its significance to Serbian history. Just as it happens with his lectures on Roman law, Prof. Bujuklić has managed to attract quite a crowd, leaving no empty seats at the amphitheater V – “Radomir Lukić”. The audience followed the lecture with great interest throughout its three-hour duration.
