Head of Copyright at Google participated in our “Internet Dialogue”

On 5 June 2019, The Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade and the Serbian National Internet Domain Foundation (RNIDS) jointly organized a conference “Internet Dialogue”. The welcome address was given by Prof. Zoran Mirković, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Mr. Goran Milanković, member of the RNIDS Body of Governors, and Prof. Dušan V. Popović, president of the Serbian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Institution.

The keynote speech was given by Dr. Cédric Manara, Head of Copyright at Google. Dr. Manara spoke of the copyright challenges currently faced by Google. Following his presentation, Dr. Manara discussed the newly adopted EU Directive on the Copyright in the Digital Single Market with Prof. Dušan V. Popović, and also answered the questions from the audience.

The second session was dedicated to domain names and chaired by Prof. Slobodan Marković. The presentations were given by Prof. Sanja Radovanović from the Faculty of Law of the University of Novi Sad and Doc. Marko Jovanović from the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade.

The conference was streamed online live on the websites of RNIDS and the Faculty of Law. This conference was a pre-event to the upcoming fifth conference “Intellectual Property and the Internet” that will be organized in June 2020.
