Additional Course: Restructuring of Companies and the EU Law – Key Company Law and Labour Law Aspects
March 1, 2017 marked the start date of the additional course Restructuring of Companies and the EU Law – Key Company Law and Labour Law Aspects within the Master of the European Integration at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. The course was opened with two introductory lectures entitled: Introduction into European company law on restructuring, held by Prof. Dr. Martin Winner on March 1, and Mag. Julia Nicolussi on March 2, both from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
The following two lectures were given by Dr. Erika Kovács from the same University. The first lecture: Protection of employees’ rights in the event of restructuring of companies was held on March 2, while the second: Protection of employees’ rights in the event of restructuring of companies (Directive 2001/23/EC) was held on March 3.
On the same day, participants had an opportunity to hear two more lecturers. Prof. Dr. Todor Kalamatiev and Doc. Dr. Aleksandar Ristovski, from the Faculty of Law University “Ss Cyril and Methodius“, Skopje held lecture on Harmonization process in labour law in Macedonia regarding restructuring of companies.
Finally, On Saturday, March 4, Prof. Dr. Vuk Radović and Doc. Dr. Mirjana Radović from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law held lecture on Harmonization of Serbian company law with the EU law regarding restructuring of companies, while Doc. Dr. Ljubinka Kovačević from the same Faculty spoke on the topic Harmonization of Serbian labour law with the EU law regarding restructuring of companies.
The topic of the course and the course itself were very inspiring and interesting. This may be best illustrated by the fact that the course was attended by over one hundred students of undergraduate, master and doctoral studies and students of Master in European Integration. At the end of the course all participants were given certificates of attendance.
