Summer School “The Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities”
The Faculty of Law hosted the Summer School “Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities”, in the period from 20 to 24 September 2010. Summer school was organized in cooperation with the Fund for an Open Society from Belgrade, as well as the Faculty of Law of Caen and the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace from Kaena (Caen) in Normandy, France.
At the opening ceremony of the summer school, in the crowded amphitheater “Djordje Tasic,” participants and guests were welcomed by dean Prof. Dr. Mirko Vasiljević, Saša Janković, Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Svetozar Čiplić, Minister for Human and Minority Rights of the Republic of Serbia, Vladimir Pešić, Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and the manager of the summer school and professor of the Faculty Dr Jovica Trkulja.
95 students from University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, 18 law students from the region – Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, 5 students from France attended the summer school.
Members of the Organizing Committee of the Summer School were Prof. Dr. Jovica Trkulja – the president, Prof. Dr. Branko Rakić – vice president, Dr Damjan Tatić, assistant mr Svetislav Bulajić, assistant mr Maja Lukić – Secretary, Branka Kokanović, Filip Bojić i Viktor Živojinović.
The aim of the Summer School “Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities” was to familiarize the participants with the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as problems in exercising those rights.
