Free Market Road Show – This Time in Belgrade
On April 14, 2021, the Hayek Institute, Vienna and the Austrian Economics Centre, together with the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics, organised a panel discussion: IP, Brand Protection and Patents: Foundation of Innovations.
The keynote speaker Henrique Schneider, the head of economic policy at the Swiss Federation of SME and professor at Nordakademie, Elmshorn, Germany presented libertarian view of intellectual property: “IP, Fire and Other Dangerous Things” The issue of whether IP rights protection system as we know it today can survive the challenges of the 21st century was discussed by professor Dušan Popović, University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, Mateja Đurović, reader at the King’s College, London, and Nikola Ilić, lecturer at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. The moderator of this noteworthy discussion was professor Siniša Zarić, University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics.
