Prize of the “Slobodan S. Begović” Foundation awarded
The first annual prize of the “Slobodan S. Begović” Foundation, intended for young historians for their research into the history of the Independent State of Croatia, was awarded in the ceremonial hall of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, on September 17th, 2020. The jury consisting of academician Ljubodrag Dimić, Prof. Dr Zoran Mirković, Dr Vojislav Pavlović, Mr Zoran Hamović and Prof. Dr Boris Begović, the director of the Foundation, unanimously decided to award this year’s prize to Danilo Kovač, senior assistant of the Department of History at the University of Banja Luka. Kovač’s master’s thesis “Diplomatic Relations between Italy and the Independent State of Croatia (1941-1943)”, which he defended at the Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka in 2018, was awarded. Dean of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, Professor Dr Zoran Mirković, upon congratulating the winner of the award, also pointed out the contribution that our faculty has made to the legal historiography of this dark period of recent history by organizing the conference “Legal Order of the Independent State of Croatia”.
