Belgrade mooties won the second place at the AIA-CAM Pre-Moot
In the course of their preparations for this year’s XXVI annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the students of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law took part at the pre-moot competition in Milan which took place on 7 and 8 March 2019.
The Milan Pre-Moot (the AIA-CAM Pre-Moot) was organized by the Associazione Italiana per l’Arbitrato and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration and gathered 18 participating teams from nine different countries. During two days of competition, our students had seven oral arguments with the students from Italy (Bocconi University, University of Milan, Roma Tre University), Finland (Helsinki University), Germany (Passau University, Mainz University) and France (Sciences Po Law School). The next stage of preparation of our students will be the international pre-moot in Munich.
At AIA-CAM Pre-Moot, our team came second scoring an average grade only 0.2 points lower than the average grade of the first ranked team – University of Montenegro. The team was accompanied by Ass. Prof. Milena Đorđević, who gave a lecture at the Arbitration Conference organized by ArbIt – AIA – CAM on the topic “Requests for the Production of Documents: Ally or Foe?”.
Belgrade Vis Moot team is comprised out of eight undergraduate and master students: Stefan Petrović, Stefan Stanimirović, Ljubiša Vulić, David Vučinić, Matija Savović, Una Draganić, Mila Đorđević and Teodora Vujošević, whereas Jelisaveta Boljanović participated in the written phase of the competition. Ass. Prof. Milena Djordjević and lecturer Uroš Živković are coaching the team, with the assistance of Ms. Ivana Barać, Ms. Sara Stojković, Ms. Andrea Nikolić and Ms. Milica Arsić.
