Signing an Agreement on Cooperation with the Genocide Victims’ Museum

On Wednesday, the 19th of January, 2022, the Dean of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr Zoran Mirković, along with Prof. Dr Miloš Stanković, met with Mr. Dejan Ristić, the director of the Genocide Victims’ Museum and his colleagues from this national institution. On this occasion, the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and the Genocide Victims’ Museum also signed a Protocol on Cooperation.

This agreement, signed by Prof. Mirković and Mr. Ristić, represents an introduction into an institutional cooperation of our Faculty and the Museum, which started off with an exchange of expert literature. The cooperation will continue with a coauthorship on a paper that will be directed towards fostering the culture of remembrance, and keeping alive the memory of the Serbs, Jews and the Romani who fell victim to genocide in the 20th century at our part of the world. The paper will also analyse the legal mechanisms and social and historical processes that resulted in the creation of the machinery of evil whose innocent victims were Serbs, Jews and the Romani people.

The University of Belgrade Faculty of Law points out that they had already made an important step in this direction by organizing a scientific conference dedicated to the Legal Order of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in 2017, and publishing the conference proceedings with the same name
