Professor Botta gave a keynote address at “Internet Dialogue 2021”

The University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and RNIDS – Serbian Internet Domain Names Registry Foundation jointly organized the conference “Internet Dialogue 2021”. The conference was held online, on 3 June 2021. The welcome addresses were given by Professor Zoran Mirković, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Mr. Dejan Đukić, RNIDS Director, and Professor Dušan Popović, President of the Organising Board.

Dr. Marco Botta, professor at the European University Institute in Florence, affiliated research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich, and adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna, gave a keynote address entitled “Competition v. sector-regulation of online platforms: recent developments in the European Union”. Professor Botta discussed the Proposal of the Digital Markets Act, published by the European Commission in December 2020, as well as the recent legislative developments and case-law in Germany and United Kingdom. The second session of the “Internet Dialogue” was dedicated to tax law aspects of online businesses. The session was chaired by Professor Gordana Ilić Popov, and included the presentations by Professor Svetislav V. Kostić, teaching assistant Lidija Živković, PhD candidate Iva Ivanov and PhD candidate Dragan Bosankić.
